Outdoor Education Since 1986 I have worked with the NSW Department of Sport and Recreation at the outdoor education camping programs. The Department has 11 Centres across the state, and over the years I have worked at each centre at least twice. I have worked at more than 54 vacation camps (each camp is approximately one week long, and I have also been employed as a fulltime staff member at The Sydney academy of Sport, Narrabeen, as Assistant Program Director from Nov 1999- Jan 2002. |

Achievements As a staff member at the vacation camps I attended numerous weekend training courses, and was promoted through the ranks from Assistant Instructor, then Instructor, then Assistant Director, and then Director. As a Senior Staff member I was responsible for training the program staff, liasing with support staff, writing and co-ordinating the program, councelling staff and/or children, administrative duties, writing staff reports, and ensuring the general smooth running of the camp. In my role as Assistant Program Director and permanent staff member at Narrabeen (the Sydney Academy of Sport) I was involved in implementing program activities, first aid, acting in the position of Director, and all the above duties of a Vacation camp senior staff member. In addition to the position requirements ; -I was appointed Director of the highly successful inaugral family camp. -I was appointed Director of Vacation Circus Camps. -I was appointed Director of the visiting Korean camp. -I represented the Department as part of the marketing team at the National Sports Expo 2000, Homebush Sydney. -I assisted the Department in the production of the Burrendong Centre promotional video. -I represented The Sydney Academy of Sport at the 2001 National Physical Theatre and Contemporary Circus Conference, Brisbane. - when appointed marketing manager for the 2001 Circus Camps I implemented marketing activities which saw enrolements increase by 1,300 %! |
