Making The Silky Edging

Here is how you do the metallic or silky look border.
Open up your picture in Paint Shop Pro 5.
First I made the black edge around the picture
itself using Add Border under Images.
Then I opened a new image, under File then New,
made it larger than the picture but proportionate to it,
then went to Images, Plug In Filters,
then Greg's Filter Factory Vol II, and click on Pool Shadow.
If you don't have this filter, here is the link:

(The pool shadow is in the Output II download)
Fill in the new image with the main color you want to use.
For the picture above, I used a gold shade.
Then mess with the settings to give it a dotted or striped look.
Normally I set both the DIAGONAL settings all the way to the right.
The best way is to just play with it and you will
figure out how to get your best results.
Then click on your picture, go to Edit,
Copy then click on the new Image, go to Edit and Paste
and paste it near the center or wherever looks best.
Then go to the toolbar on the left and
click on the SELECTION tool:
and cut out the area around it, leave the flashing lines where
you want it cut out then go up to Images and Crop Selection.
Then add another border. You can also do it with
lettering as shown below. Just leave the broken lines around
your letters blinking while you add the filter to it.
See Below:

After using the filter and adding Drop Shadow as shown in my Tutorial #2:

Good luck!
