How To Use A Mask

Download a mask to your MASKS folder in PSP5.
If you don't have a MASKS folder, make one by opening
up your Windows Explorer, highlighting your PSP folder
and going up to FILE, then NEW, then FOLDER and name it MASKS.

Open PSP and the picture you want to use.
We will use the rose shown below:

Tip: Sometimes the picture may be too small for the mask so it
may help to add more around the outside.
On this picture, I went up to IMAGE and ADD BORDERS and added
some extra black all the way around it before adding the mask.
It can also be too large, so you can use your
SELECTION tool and cut some of the outside off also.
Remember, you can always go back up to EDIT and UNDO
if you want to start over or go back a step or two.

Now, go up to MASKS on the toolbar at the top and click on VIEW MASK.
Then go back up to MASKS again and click on LOAD FROM DISK.
This screen should then come up:

Highlight the mask you want to use as shown above,
I chose the RND_FADE mask.
Then click on OPEN.
The results are shown below:

Then go back up to MASKS and click on INVERT, results below:

Now go up to LAYERS, then MERGE, then MERGE ALL (Flatten)
and below are the results:

Now you may want to buttonize it as shown in Tutorial #1:

I made a new image with pink and added the Water Drops effect
using Eye Candy and then pasted the above button to it.
Then buttonized again and the final results are below:
