Jo Ann Scaglione is now "OUR ANGEL", after she ended her battle with cancer on April 13,
2000. She battled recurrent anal cancer for more then 16 months.. You may recall
that Jo Ann traveled to The Bahamas last year for experimental cancer treatment.
She went back again in September for a "TUNE UP". She also traveled to
Atlanta for Immuno Therapy and Memphis for Hyperthermia treatments. I guess only
God knows when it is time to meet him.
Jo Ann was the dear wife of Michael Scaglione, dear mother of
Michael, Jr. and Matthew Scaglione, Christopher and Carmen Hayes, dear
stepmother of Sarah Scaglione, dear grandmother of Joel Hayes, dear daughter of
Rudy and Delores Achter, dear daughter-in-law of Edward and Betty Scaglione,
dear sister of Barbara Turner and Linda Starnes, dear sister-in-law of Susan
Bardol, Sandi Shymanski, and Steve Scaglione, dear aunt, cousin, friend. She
will truly be missed by many others as well.
Jo Ann is in a place that is far greater than this one. She
will live on in our hearts and the hearts of those who knew her. Jo Ann was laid
to rest at the Shepherd Hills Cemetery, in Imperial, MO. She is in section 4,
block 503, lot 6, space 5. Jo Ann's tombstone was erected just before her
birthday, July 15th. It is a beautiful tribute to a beautiful person.
The picture to the left is a shadow box that Mike Scaglione had
designed to hold Jo Ann's cross from her casket, a rose from her flowers, her
prayer card, and a picture of her. It is proudly displayed at the Scaglione
home.
