| Below is a link to Allen Ginsberg's poem "America" written in 1956. Included among the group of writers known as The Beats, Ginsberg (who died in 1997) was a writer and political activist. Rebelling against the repressive norms of the 1940's and 50's Ginsberg was amongst a group of artist who embodied the instict toward social revolution that defined the 1960's.
