The masked henchman is always the guy who gets sent out to do the dirty work, and usually gets no reward other than his own self satisfaction of a job well done. Be it guarding a lair, robbing a bank, kidnapping a helpless victim, or confronting the Hero, rest assured a masked henchman was involved.
This site also explores one of my favorite fetishes, that of the MASK.
