Mules aren't all mean - they don't go around with their ears pinned back, lopped to the sides, or baring their teeth. They have large, shapely ears, and bright eyes. Part of the "puzzled" or "Sad" expression some mules have comes from the large bony brow ridge. This is from the donkey's D-shaped eye socket. The brow ridge is usually more apparent in Horse mules (geldings) than in Mare mules (mollies). | ||||||||||||||||||
