Mule foals
These are various types from saddle to draft mule foals. Mules, being a hybrid, vary more in overall type that other breeds.  A saddlebred foal may be spindly or heavy, you might not be able to tell a quarter mule from a Thoroughbred cross.  Mule foals may also be taller or smaller than either parent, although they usually split the difference between in height. NOTE however, that mules are usually smoother than horses, lacking in the big, bunchy muscles you see on stock type horses.  Muscular, yes, but not bulky.  The overall impression is that the body has been smoothed.  Remember this when working with models that have muscles sharply sculpted.
Carl - by the same sire as Charles, and out of a black Percheron mare.
Charles - bay john mule, by a black mammoth out of a bay Appendix Quarter mare.
Lumberjack's Dusty - FOOLED YA!  NOT a draft mule!!! This hairy beastie is actually out of a Saddlebred mare!  He was never this hairy again.
