Ethics and Codes of Moral Conduct

As much as it isn't truly my place to be spouting personal morality at people, America's morals seem to be a pretty sad state of affairs as of late, and I feel as though I should comment upon it. Not that anyone will look at this and magically discover an ethical reality, but perhaps I will spark an idea in someone... some notion that hadn't come to mind yet.  Make someone think.

It is a humble task.

Every day, one must make choices. Some of these choices are easy: should I eat Cheerios or Rice Chex for breakfast? Some of these choices are not: do I agree with what my acquaintance is doing or saying? However, both types of choices must be made daily. Since the true self is evident when such decisions must be made without much thought, one must ascertain a state of ethical morality with deliberation and in such a way that it begins to occur naturally. "Act how you want to be, and you'll be how you want to act."

But what does that entail, exactly? How does one acquire morality? Well, kids... it takes time and patience. One must search within the self to find what exists there. It is the same with morality. One must examine daily actions, words, and thoughts for traces of ethical inconsistencies. Granted, some issues are more serious than others. I also understand that everyone's moral code of conduct is different, just as each person is different. With that in mind....
