After the Overture

"He lies,"

she whispered.

"Manipulates you with languid language."

As together they sleep,

I worship my raw blood,

& I cry as the rusty knife

sings a thousand black deaths

through my smooth white skin.

Goddess, please,

though I was weak like visionless music,

say the symphony was but a dream.
