al Falaq - The Day Break - Surah 113
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful!
Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of the Day break, from the evil of what He has created; from the evil of darkness when it gathers; from the evil of the conjuring witches; from the evil of the envier when he envies.

an Nas - Men - Surah 114
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful!
Say: O seek refuge in the Lord of men, the King of men, the God of men, from the mischief of the slinking prompter, who whispers in the hearts of men, from among jinn and men.

The two surahs, together are given the name al-Mu'awwadhatain. As the two protecting surahs, to protect oneself from the evil eye and envy, the above two surahs can be recited. Al-Mu'awwadhatain literally means 'the two chapters used in seeking refuge'.
The two above surahs - which are the last two found in the Qur'an "The Day Break " and "Men" contain a directive from Allah primarily to His Prophet and secondly to the believers at large, to take refuge in Him and seek His protection in the face of any source of fear, hidden or visible, known or unknown. It is as if Allah, the Exalted, is unfolding His world of care, and embracing the believers in His guard, and is kindly and affectionately calling on them to resort to His care where in they will feel safe and peaceful.
In surah an-Nas, as can be seen, refuge is sought in the Lord, Sovereign and God of mankind from the insidious whisperer, jinn or human who prompts evil ideas into people's minds.
The word MashaAllah can further take the poison that comes out of the bad eyes away. Hasad (envy) can badly affect the person or the object deeply looked at with great psychological admiration and desire.
Al-Bukhari related that Aisha said that the Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) would blow into both hands when getting into bed to sleep, and recite:
Say: He is Allah, the One ..." and, "Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of
the Day break ..." and, "Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of men", and
starting with his head, face and front part of his body, he would then
run his palms all over the rest of his body. He did that three times.
[Also transmitted by the other major traditionists].
Uqbah ibn Amir said that the Messenger of Allah (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) said:
Have you not seen the verses which have been revealed upon me this
night, which no one has seen the like thereof before; (they are) 'Says I
seek refuge with the Rubb of the Dawn. (i.e. Surah no. 113), and ‘Say! I
seek refuge with the Rubb of Mankind. (i.e. Surah no. 114)
[Muslim]
Uqbah ibn Amir said:
While the Messenger of Allah (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) and I were going from Al-Juhfah to
AI-Abwa, we were overspread by winds and severe darkness. So the
Messenger of Allah (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) began to seek refuge with 'Say! I seek refuge with the Rubb of the Dawn (i.e. Surah no. 113), and Say! I seek refuge with the Rubb of Mankind (i.e. Surah no. 114) and said: ‘O Uqbah, seek
refuge with them, for no person seeking refuge has sought refuge with
anything like them.
