Seeking Forgiveness from God
|
| وَقَالُواْ سَمِعْنَا وَأَطَعْنَا غُفْرَانَكَ رَبَّنَا وَإِلَيْكَ الْمَصِيرُ |
| ... [] |
And they say: 'We hear, and we obey: (We seek) Thy forgiveness, our Lord, and to Thee is the end of all journeys'
[surah Baqarah; 2: 285] |

| رَبَّنَا لاَ تُؤَاخِذْنَا إِن نَّسِينَا أَوْ أَخْطَأْنَا رَبَّنَا وَلاَ تَحْمِلْ عَلَيْنَا إِصْرًا كَمَا حَمَلْتَهُ عَلَى الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِنَا رَبَّنَا وَلاَ تُحَمِّلْنَا مَا لاَ طَاقَةَ لَنَا بِهِ وَاعْفُ عَنَّا وَاغْفِرْ لَنَا وَارْحَمْنَآ أَنتَ مَوْلاَنَا فَانصُرْنَا عَلَى الْقَوْمِ |
| rabbana la tu·āķhižna in nasīna aū aķhţaana rabbana wala taĥmil `alaīna işran kama ĥamaltahu `ala allažīna min qablina rabbana wala tuĥammilna ma la ţāqata lana bihi wā`fu `anna wāĝhfir lana wārĥamna anta maūlāna fānşurna `ala alqaūmi alkāfirīna
[] |
O our Lord, do not hold us responsible if we forget or make a mistake. O our Lord, do not lay on us a burden such as You laid on those before us. O our Lord, do not impose upon us that which we have not the strength (to bear). Pardon us, and forgive us, and have mercy on us. You are our Lord-master, so help us against the unbelieving people

| رَبَّنَا إِنَّنَا آمَنَّا فَاغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ |
rabbana []
Our Lord! we have indeed believed: forgive us, then, our sins, and save us from the agony of the Fire
[surah Ali' Imran; 3: 16] |

| وَمَا كَانَ قَوْلَهُمْ إِلاَّ أَن قَالُواْ ربَّنَا اغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَإِسْرَافَنَا فِي أَمْرِنَا وَثَبِّتْ أَقْدَامَنَا وانصُرْنَا عَلَى الْقَوْمِ الْكَافِرِينَ |
rabbana aĝhfir lana žunūbana wa·isrāfana fī amrina waŧhabbit aqdāmana wānşurna `ala alqaūmi alkāfirīna []
O our Lord, forgive us our sins and our excuses in our affairs, and set our foothold firm, and help us against the disbelieving people
[surah Ali' Imran; 3: 147] |

| رَّبَّنَا إِنَّنَا سَمِعْنَا مُنَادِيًا يُنَادِي لِلإِيمَانِ أَنْ آمِنُواْ بِرَبِّكُمْ فَآمَنَّا رَبَّنَا فَاغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَكَفِّرْ عَنَّا سَيِّئَاتِنَا وَتَوَفَّنَا مَعَ الأبْرَارِ |
| rabbana innana sami`na munādinullnullan yunādī lil·īmāni an ·āminū birabbikum fa·āmanna rabbana fāĝhfir lana žunūbana wakaffir `anna sayyi·ātina watawaffana ma`a al·abrāri [] |
O our Lord, we have indeed heard the voice of crier (messenger) calling (us) to faith: “Believe in your Lord.” So we believed. Our Lord, forgive us then our sins, and remove from us our evil deeds, and make us die with the virtuous.
[surah Ali' Imran; 3: 193]

| قَالاَ رَبَّنَا ظَلَمْنَا أَنفُسَنَا وَإِن لَّمْ تَغْفِرْ لَنَا وَتَرْحَمْنَا لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ |
| qala rabbana żalamna anfusana wa·in lam taĝhfir lana watarĥamna lanakūnanna min alķhāsirīna [] [] |
Our Lord! We have sinned against ourselves, and unless You grant us forgiveness and bestow Your mercy upon us, we shall most certainly be lost!
[surah Al-A'raf; 7: 23]

| سُبْحَانَكَ تُبْتُ إِلَيْكَ وَأَنَاْ أَوَّلُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ |
| Subhana [] [] |
Glory be to Thee! to Thee I turn in repentance, and I am the first to believe
[surah Al-A'raf; 7: 143]

| رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَلأَخِي وَأَدْخِلْنَا فِي رَحْمَتِكَ وَأَنتَ أَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمِينَ |
| Rabbi aĝhfir lī wal·aķhī wa·adķhilna fī raĥmatika wa·anta arĥamu arrāĥimīna [] |
O Allah, forgive me and my brother and admit us to Your mercy, You are the most merciful of the merciful
[surah Al-A'raf; 7: 151]

| أَنتَ وَلِيُّنَا فَاغْفِرْ لَنَا وَارْحَمْنَا وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ الْغَافِرِينَ |
| Anta Waliyyuna fāghfir lana wrr-hamna wa anta khair-ulghgfireen [] |
(O Lord) You are our guardian, so forgive us and have mercy on us and You are the best of the forgivers
[surah Al-A'raf; 7: 155]

| رَبَّنَا اغْفِرْ لِي وَلِوَالِدَيَّ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ يَوْمَ يَقُومُ الْحِسَابُ |
| rabbana aĝhfir lī waliwalidayya walilmu·minīna yaūma yaqūmu alĥisābu [] |
O our lord, forgive me and my parents and believers on the day when the reckoning shall come to pass.
[surah Ibrahim; 14: 41]

| رَبَّنَا آمَنَّا فَاغْفِرْ لَنَا وَارْحَمْنَا وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ الرَّاحِمِينَ |
| rabbana ·āmanna fāĝhfir lana wārĥamna wa·anta ķhaīru arrāĥimīna [] |
O our Lord, we believe, so forgive us and have mercy on us, for You are the best of the Mercifuls.
[surah Mu'minun; 23: 109]

| وَقُل رَّبِّ اغْفِرْ وَارْحَمْ وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ الرَّاحِمِينَ |
| waqul rabbi aĝhfir wārĥam wa·anta ķhaīru arrāĥimīna [] |
O Lord, forgive and have mercy, for You are the best of the Merciful.
[surah Mu'minun; 23: 118]

| رَبِّ إِنِّي ظَلَمْتُ نَفْسِي فَاغْفِرْ لِي فَغَفَرَ لَهُ إِنَّهُ هُوَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ |
| Rabbi innī żalamtu nafsī fāĝhfir lī faĝhafara lahu innahu huwa alĝhafūru arraĥīmu [] |
O Lord, verily I have wronged myself, so forgive me
[surah Qassas; 28: 16]

|
| رَبَّنَا وَسِعْتَ كُلَّ
شَيْءٍ رَّحْمَةً وَعِلْمًا فَاغْفِرْ لِلَّذِينَ تَابُوا وَاتَّبَعُوا سَبِيلَكَ وَقِهِمْ عَذَابَ الْجَحِيمِ
|
| rabbana wasi`ta kulla shaī·in raĥmatan wa`ilman fāĝhfir lillažīna tābū wāttaba`ū sabīlaka waqihim `ažāba aljaĥīmi [] |
Our Lord! Thy Reach is over all things, in Mercy and Knowledge. Forgive, then, those who turn in Repentance, and follow Thy Path; and preserve them from the Penalty of the Blazing Fire!
[surah Mu'min; 40: 7]

| رَبِّ أَوْزِعْنِي أَنْ أَشْكُرَ نِعْمَتَكَ الَّتِي أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيَّ وَعَلَى وَالِدَيَّ وَأَنْ أَعْمَلَ صَالِحًا تَرْضَاهُ وَأَصْلِحْ لِي فِي ذُرِّيَّتِي إِنِّي تُبْتُ إِلَيْكَ وَإِنِّي مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ |
| rabbi aūzi`nī an ashkura ni`mataka allatī an`amta `alayya wa`ala walidayya wa·an a`mala şaliĥan tarđāhu wa·aşliĥ lī fī žurriyyatī innī tubtu ilaīka wa·innī mina almuslimīna [] |
O Lord, arouse me that I may thank You for the bounties You have bestowed on me and my parents, and that I may do good which pleases You, and do good to me with regard to my offspring. Verily I turn repentant to You, and verily I am one of those who submit
[surah Al-Ahqaf; 46: 15]

| وَالَّذِينَ جَاؤُوا مِن بَعْدِهِمْ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَا اغْفِرْ لَنَا وَلِإِخْوَانِنَا الَّذِينَ سَبَقُونَا بِالْإِيمَانِ وَلَا تَجْعَلْ فِي قُلُوبِنَا غِلًّا لِّلَّذِينَ آمَنُوا رَبَّنَا إِنَّكَ رَؤُوفٌ رَّحِيمٌ |
| rabbana aĝhfir lana wal·iķhwānina allažīna sabaqūna bil·īmāni wala taj`al fī qulūbina ĝhillan lillažīna ·āmanū rabbana innaka ra·ūfun raĥīmun [] |
Our Lord! Forgive us our sins as well as those of our brethren who proceeded us in faith and let not our hearts entertain any unworthy thoughts or feelings against [any of] those who have believed. Our Lord! You are indeed full of kindness and Most Merciful
[surah Al-Hashr; 59:10]

| رَّبَّنَا عَلَيْكَ تَوَكَّلْنَا وَإِلَيْكَ أَنَبْنَا وَإِلَيْكَ الْمَصِيرُ |
| rabbana `alaīka tawakkalna wa·ilaīka anabna wa·ilaīka almaşīru [] |
Our Lord! In You we have placed our trust, and to You do we turn in repentance, for unto You is the end of all journeys
[surah Mumtahana; 60: 4]

|
| رَبَّنَا أَتْمِمْ لَنَا نُورَنَا وَاغْفِرْ لَنَا إِنَّكَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ |
| rabbana atmim lana nūrana wāĝhfir lana innaka `ala kulli shaī·in qadīrun [] |
Our Lord! Perfect our light for us and forgive us our sins, for verily You have power over all things
[surah Tahreem; 66: 8]

| سُبْحَانَ رَبِّنَا إِنَّا كُنَّا ظَالِمِينَ |
Subhana rabbina []
Glory to our Lord! Verily we have been doing wrong!
[surah Al-Qalam; 68: 29] |
|
| رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَلِوَالِدَيَّ وَلِمَن دَخَلَ بَيْتِيَ مُؤْمِنًا وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ وَلَا تَزِدِ الظَّالِمِينَ إِلَّا تَبَارًا |
| rabbi aĝhfir lī waliwalidayya waliman daķhala baītī mu·minan walilmu·minīna walmu·mināti wala tazid ażżalimīna illa tabāran [] |
O Lord, forgive me, my parents and him who enters my abode as a believer, and the believing men and believing women, and do not give the unjust increase save in perdition
[surah Nuh; 71: 28]

| لَّا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنتَ سُبْحَانَكَ إِنِّي كُنتُ مِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ
|

There is no god but thou: glory to thee: I was indeed wrong!
[surah Al-Anbiya; 21: 87] |
