I've dreamed many dreams that never came true
And seen most just vanish at dawn,
But I've realized enough of those dreams
To make me want to dream on.

To make me keep praying on.

That, often, never have grown,
But I've held enough green sheaves in my hands
To make me keep sowing on.
I've drunk from life's cup of heartache and pain
And gone many days without song,
But I've seen enough beauty in the roses of life
To make me want to live on.

A long long time ago, On graduation day,
You wrote into my book, You signed this way:

We dated through high school, And when the big day came,
You wrote into my book, Next to your name:
