~Tiny Beaver At Play~
Look at the tiny beaver
As he chews upon the bark
Just simply watching as he munches
It’s really quite a lark.
These two large teeth of his
They stick way out in front
And all you can hear are little noises
For as he’s chewing, yes…..that’s a grunt!
Now for me I’m laying really low
As among the tall grass I do hide
For I know that if he sees me
Back into the water he’ll glide.
For beavers are quite bashful
And hard workers too they say
But myself I’m really thinking
This tiny one has come out to play.
I watch him scampering all about
He’s running to and fro
Now he’s going round in circles
Trying to catch his tail…you know.
But then all of a sudden
He comes to a complete stop
Then he jumps back in the water
And I hear a resounding “Plop!”
I see another beaver head
Appearing in the river
It must’ve have been his momma
Saying “C’mon it’s time for dinner.”
So, sometime if you’re lucky
Maybe you too can say
Today I really had so much fun
As I watched a tiny beaver play.
