BLITZ CLUB
Relaunch Party - 25 september 2008
Hosted by Stuart Trevor, Rusty Egan and Steve Strange, because the trio decided to relaunch the club as an homage to the legendary night approaching its 30th anniversary which has already created a tremendous buzz.

Stuart (designer at Bolongaro Trevor and the founder and former designer for All Saints Retail Ltd) joined forces with old friends Rusty Egan, renowned musician and DJ pioneer and Steve Strange, the legendary host of the original club.

From 1979 to 1981 the Blitz club (originally a World War II themed wine bar) was the epicentre of the London clubscene, and the night run by Rusty Egan and Steve Strange was a huge influence on the regular crowd and helped launch the pop careers of Boy George (who worked the cloakroom) Spandau Ballet, Visage, Pete Burns and a whole host of fashion luminaries

A demanding door policy run by Strange made the club ultra exclusive whilst Egan’s music, mixing kraut rock, electronic disco and post punk introduced a whole new sound to the scene. The queues ran around the block and ‘new romantics’ posed, preened and danced their way into club / fashion history.
