WELCOME
IN MEMORY OF OUR HANSOM RANSOM
Hansom Ransom as we used to call him was born on January 11, 1992. He was a tri color Lhasa Apso. He was the son of Buffy who you would have met on the previous page. He was a tough little guy always pestering his other eight litter mates. The story on how Ransom got his name is quite a remarkable one. When he was only three and a half weeks old he was stolen out of the pen that himself and his other littermates were in, in the basement of our home. We still hadn't named him but once this happened we decided to call him Ransom. We were very lucky to have got him back.
He was a very healthy little pup that we knew anyway. He had his regular check ups when he was suppose to and all his shots were kept up to date. One night while we were all sitting around relaxing and watching the television our little Ransom began shaking and he was very disoriented. Right away we called a vet and we had to take him in. After our visit we found out that he had had an epileptic siezure. We were all heartbroken. We took him home and we had medication we had to give him every day. All was going well and then it happened again. They were becoming more frequent. Then quite a few months went by and everything was fine we thought he was maybe getting better and then two months after his second birthday he had another one but this one he never came out of. We had to make that terrible decision and the choice we made was best for Ransom. It was very hard for us to do but we stayed with him right to the end.
We said our good byes and held him close and we told him we would see him again at a place called "Rainbow Bridge".
We Love you Hansom Ransom

From left to right is Eesa,Ransom and then Buffy. Eesa is Ransom's sister and Buffy's daughter from her second litter.
This was Ransom's most famous trick. To sit on his butt with his front paws up. He could do this for about one minute if not longer.
HOME AT LAST
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The trees were blowing in the gentle breeze
the sun was shining; and the grass grows tall
off in the distance; you can see a waterfall
Over the falls; down through the creek
the water flows gently; as a rabbit sneaks a peek
Far up above; in the deep blue sky
the birds soar high; as they fly by
The animals play; at the bridge by the waterfall
chasing each other; and just having a ball
They play all day; from morning to night
there's no more rain; just warm sunlight
Off in the distance; the trumpets would blow
all would look up; and notice a bright glow
The harps would play; and the angels would sing
as another pet has come home; who had earned his wings
IF IT SHOULD BE
~~~~~~~~~~
If it should be that I grow weak
And pain should keep me from my sleep
Then you must do what must be done
For this last battle can't be won

You will be sad I understand
But don't let grief then stay your hand
For this day more than all the rest
Your love for me must stand the test

We've had so many happy years
What is to come can hold no fears
You don't want me to suffer so;
The time has come, please let me go

Take me where my need they'll tend
But please stay with me `til the end
To hold me close and speak to me
Until my eyes no longer see

I know in time you will agree
It was kindness done for me
Although my tail its last has waved
From pain and suffering I am saved

Please do not grieve that it was you
Who had this painful thing to do
We've been so close, we two these years
Don't let your heart hold any tears
