Cast a circle (go to the how to cast a circle section, if you need instrution.).
You will need on your altar all or some of these: pine branches, juniper, mistletoe, holly.
You will also need the items below:
Altar pentacle or any pentacle will do.
A bell
Incense burner
Incense Yule incense is perfect, but you can also use bayberry, frankincense and myrrh or a nice pine.
Goblet or cup
Wine or juice
Green or yellow candle in your cauldron, standing up so you can light it. (Represents the new born Sun God.)
A white, red and black candle in holders, standing around the cauldron. (Represents the triple Goddess, who is giving birth to the Sun God.)
Ring the bell three times and stand before your altar. Put some incense on the coals and say:
Behold Yule the darkest day of the year. The day of the birth of the Divine child of light. Who will be once again born from the great cauldron of rebirth. Through his birth the darkness will decline and the light will return to us.
So Mote It Be!
Put some more incense on the coals, ring the bell three times again and say:
Through the cauldron of rebirth, the God of the forests and the God of the underworld are once more transformed to the Divine child of light. No more will darkness reign. The light will triumph once again.
So Mote it Be!
Put some more incense on the coals and ring the bell three times again and say:
All is dark. I await the coming of the dawn. The triple Goddess once again gives birth to the divine child, through the Sacred cauldron of rebirth. I know that someday I too must pass through the cauldron to be reborn. To this I give honor to the triple Goddess.
So mote it be!
Light the white candle and say:
White is for the Maiden. May you plant the seeds of joy, growth and new beginnings in my life.
Light the red candle and say:
Red is for the Mother. May you grant me creativity and make me productive in all I do.
Light the black candle and say:
Black is for the Crone. May you give wisdom to me to understand all that I need to know.
Light the candle in the cauldron and say:
Behold the lord of light is born! The God of the forests will frolic with the Goddess once more and make merry. I welcome you both, child and consort of the Goddess.
Go to the East. Ring the bell once and say:
Rejoice! O powers of air! Welcome the Divine Child.
Go to the South. Ring the bell once and say:
Rejoice! O powers of fire! Welcome the Divine Child.
Go to the West. Ring the bell and say:
Rejoice! O powers of water! Welcome the Divine Child.
Go to the North. Ring the bell once and say:
Rejoice! O powers of Earth! Welcome the Divine Child.
Go back to the altar. Face east and say:
Hail! O God of the Woodlands and new life. I honor you and ask for your blessings.
Stand in silence to receive the blessings.
Ring the bell three more times and say:
Hail, Triple Goddess bringer of life out of the cauldron of rebirth. I honor you and ask for your blessings.
Again, stand in silence to receive the blessings.
Place the wine chalice on the pentacle for a few moments, lift the chalice high and say:
To the Old Gods! Merry meet and merry part and merry meet again.
Remember to save some some wine or juice to put out for an offering the Gods.
Close the circle
