Abraham Adams was born in Ashe County and resided there as a farmer when he enlisted on August 15, 1862, at the age of 30. He was discharged on November 5, 1862, by reason of "phyhisis pulmonalis." North Carolina pension records indicate that he was wounded in August 1862. He is buried in the Miller-Roten Cemetery in Ashe County, North Carolina.
