This is Abner. He is a special case. Poor thing was rescued in a dog crate with three other Igs. All were crusted with layers of shed and dried feces. A friend that I work with through our rescue group cleaned him up and has been fostering him the past few months. She asked that we take him because he was getting stressed out by the other males she owns. Abner shows signs of MBD and has a small hole in his snout that can be seen in the picture above. We do not know what caused this puncture but it seems to have completely healed. His spikes are a mess but are improving with the good care he has recieved so far. He is very tame and poops and eats well. If you are interested in adopting him, feel free to email us at the address on our index page. We will be very selective on who he goes to so you must have experience in the care of Iguanas. Update: Abner was adopted August 2002 and is doing great with his new daddy. |
