MARJAN PEJOSKI
BIO
Marjan Pejoski has been operating his self titled label since 2001. From the very start he gained both national and international recognition and has been commercially successful providing a high quality manufactured garment that is unique.
His concepts are truly modern combining traditional techniques and materials with his visionary appliqué methods. He knows how to merge the old with the new, the future with the past, and hard rock with the romantic. The Marjan Pejoski Design lives from its contrasts: It is romantic and poetic on the one hand and hard and challenging on the other hand. It is innocent as well as sinful. Pejoski’s design philosophy encourages pieces that stand out, look individual, and continually inspire the imagination of those who see them.
Traditional and modern ways of making a garment are united in Marjan’s works that constantly offer surprising aspects through their mix of themes and their wide spectrum each season. The result is 4 collections a year that are leading in fashion and which are enduring and versatile.
Due to the recognizable unique design, numerous press releases and famous buyers like Bjork, Courtney Love, Kate Moss, Kate Blanchett, Janet Jackson and many more celebrities, the brand now is sold as a cult brand at some of the most reputable and cutting edge stores and boutiques worldwide and makes a name for itself in the highly selective and competitive prêt-a-porter market.
Marjan Pejoski designs garments for people who are not afraid of expressing themselves. He creates a language of clothing that gives the customer an additional possibility to express his individuality. This customer doesn’t necessarily belong to a certain class or a certain age. Most customers have a creative background. They are graphic designers, photographers, stylists, professional models, actors, singers etc. The customer base ranges from art or design students to well off ladies in their mid fifties. In short the clothes are dedicated to the customer who loves and enjoys exploring life and all its diversities.

Biographical background
Marjan Pejoski was born in Skopje, Macedonia in 1968. A son of a politician, he went to business school in Macedonia before moving to London in 1989, where he studied jewellery design at Westminster, shoe design at Cordwainers College and fashion illustration at the Chelsea Art School in London.
In 1999, he completed a BA course in women wear at Central St. Martins School of Art and Design and delivered a stellar final collection, which caused a sensation when one of the models appeared in a water-filled dress full of live tropical fish.
The same year, Marjan Pejoski shot into the headlines by dressing Bjork in a pink dress made from 80 meters of tulle, hand stitched to create a three-dimensional sculpture which resembled a lantern. Sharing a similar sense of unconventional attitude, Bjork befriend the designer and has shown a lot of interest in his work ever since. She didn’t hesitate to choose Pejoski’s egg-laying swan dress for the Oscar ceremony, where the dress captured worldwide attention and caused provocation, also in the fashion industry. However, some people were obviously more impressed than outraged: in both 2000 and 2001 he was awarded the New Generation Award by the British Fashion Council.
In February 2000 Marjan Pejoski started showing under his own name. After showing for four seasons in London, he moved his shows to Paris where he still presents his work each season. He is best known for his avant-garde, unconventional and flamboyant style, his couture-like pieces and amazing finish. His business is rapidly expanding as he launched a seasonal menswear line in June 2003, which has had amazing response from the global fashion press.
In 2002 he was invited to Japan by Rita Media, an international record company, to do a huge catwalk show for the fashion and music elite. Following his successful show Rita Media commissioned him to design 32 outfits and style the Japanese megastar Misia for her Asian tour. The recent Japan tour was designed by Marjan Pejoski as well. All in which have established him as one as the most celebrated contemporary designers in Japan.
He is the co-founder of the fashion and music retailer Kokon To Zai where he gives many young designers a helping hand by showcasing their graduate collections and being one of the first to buy their collections. Among those that they have helped along the way are Jeremy Scott, As Four, Bernhard Willhelm, Raf Simons and Emma Cook.
Furthermore Marjan Pejoski successfully works as a stylist for international known magazines like “Jalouse” more
