Aquaria Nautica Neptuna -- Namora

Name: Aquaria Nautica Neptuna. Later changed to Namora in honor of her cousin; Namora means 'Avenging daughter'.

First appearance: Marvel Mystery Comics #82.

Cause of Death: Poisoned by the Lemerian princess Llyra

Friends: Namor (cousin) Talan (husband) Namorita (clonal 'daughter') FBI Agent Jimmy Woo, Sun-Girl, Golden Girl 1, Venus, Blonde Phantom.

Enemies: Llyra.

Powers: Super-strength of ten tons when on land, body adapted to living in the murky recesses of the ocean. Namora can breath and see underwater, and can withstand the massive ocean pressures.

Fact: Due to her hybrid heritage (Namora's mother is human, her father is Atlantian) she was sterile. After marrying a Lemerian, Talan, Namora began to long to give him a heir, so she had herself cloned. This outlawed practice was an extremely risky act, for if the Atlantians ever discovered her 'daughter' Namorita was a clone, she could possibly be killed. During the cloning process, Namorita's genes were tampered with, making her fertile but giving her an extremely unstable genetic makeup.

Race: half Atlantian/Human. Born in the underwater city of Maritanis, later immigrated to Lemeria after Maritanis was destroyed by nuclear weapons.

Affiliation: Long-time ally of Namor the Submariner, the Invaders, and the All Winners Squad.

Where can she be seen?: Sorry folks, she's dead. Can occasionaly be seen in flashbacks, and her daughter is a New Warrior. Namora was also the pocesser of her very own title in the 50s.
