Hi!
I wrote to you last night regarding the film "Lollipops and Roses at Burong Talangka" and the fact that I was an actress in that film. On your aol Hometown website, you posted two photos that you thought were from that film and asked if anyone could write and tell you anything about it. The photos are from that film and actually, I am pretty sure that the blonde woman in the second photo is me! I'm not positive, but I am pretty sure. I never saw the movie, but I did a scene up on the roof of a building with Cocoy and I'm almost sure that it is me in that photo. I am trying very hard to find a copy of that film to buy.
It was a lot of fun being in that movie. During the breaks in filming, we ate Filipino food. I developed a love of Adobo then and still love it to this day, lol. Many of my friends who were models were also in that film. During one scene, I was driving a convertible car through the streets of San Francisco and Cocoy was singing to me "I'll Remember You" and I remember that I saw a police car at the intersection. I wasn't used to driving a car with power brakes, and I put the brakes on and all of the cameramen and all of their equipment fell into the backseat of the car - it was really funny, although at the time it wasn't funny at all, because it was about 2:00 a.m. in the night, and we had to start over and re-film the entire scene all over again! I was asked to go to the Philippines and film more movies at that time. I declined, as I had a young son who I was raising by myself. Now, I regret a little bit that I didn't go. Oh well.
Thank you very much,
Melodee Donavich Touma
