NortheastIron racers met up at the pocono double infield course July 21st for a 1 hour enduro.  With a wide range of classes attending, NEI was up in the top of the grid.
Bill Headley, the current points leader, had some electrical gremlins but managed to sort it out and post a 1:45.967 top qualifiying spot.  Rob Avati grabed the second spot with a 1:46.421 and Al Watson mustered a 1:48.534 for the third spot.  At the green Watson, who started seven overall, got a good start making up two positions pulling in behind Avati, who started fourth overall, by the first turn.  Headley, who started second overall, posted a new lap record with a 1:45.336 in the opening lap gaining a sizeable lead.  In the second lap Watson lost third gear ending any kind of charge to the front.  As pit stops came into play Headley had a lightning fast stop further extending his lead and as pit stops cycled thru Headley was in front followed by Avati and Watson.  Come the final lap Headley took the class win as well as the overall enduro win.

Coming up next is LimeRock Park August 3rd and 4th 2007.
