NortheastIron traveled to Lime Rock Park August 3rd & 4th for a round of sprint races in the heart of connecticut. Bill Headley and Rob Avati where the sole NEI competitors to do battle as several others were sidelined with mechanical issues.
On friday Avati out qualified the points leader with a 1:01.946 lap to Headley's 1:02.211 lap. At the green on friday Headley was glued to Avati's six but couldn't get by. Avati was running a good race and seemed poised to win but on lap 8 was black flagged for excessive noise and gave up the lead and win to Headley.
During saturday's qualifying Headley posted a 1:00.848 lap taking the top spot as Avati was put on the trailer for noise. Headley went unchallenged for the win.
