Dear Parents, I looked over my copy of the Bohn Report recently and I found something that is interesting. I added up all the costs of converting Louis Bohn to MTYRE, added up the costs of purchasing and operating portables. I then ran the numbers out for 10 years, as was done in a similar report in San Diego. Guess what it all added up to be? The difference was $ 6800.00 that's right, MTYRE will save $6800.00 over 10 years or $ 680.00 per year. In a few years, Bohn will have about 692 students. That averages out to be just under $ 1.00 per Bohn Student per year for a traditional summer. I have 2 boys. so I plan to write SOS ( Save Our Summers) in Red on a $20 and Mail it to Dr. Larick. I hope other parents do the same. My kids summers are worth more than a Dollar. I didn't figure in inflation, a more sophisticated study is featured on our page,( http://www.oocities.org/noyreatbohn/) In the inflation adjusted study, Traditional Education will save over $ 150,000 over ten years. MTYRE is too costly. I am willing to bet that the TUSD sent more than $ 6800.00 to furnish Dr. Larick's New office. |
