Tournament Rules
(These apply to this tournament and are subject to future change)
3, 15 minute running clock periods
4 on 4 play plus goalies on each team
All players except goalies MUST wear skates
There is a faceoff to begin each period
After each goal, the team that was scored on gets the ball behind their own net, the clock continues to run
Each team has 1 timeout in each of the first 2 periods and 2 timeouts in the 3rd period
No offsides or icing, while this may seem unfair, it actually leads to a more defensively oriented game and causes people to stay back and help out
If the game ends in a tie in the pool play games, a shootout is used
If the game ends in a tie in the playoff games, overtime is used
Each game must have one person keeping stats on one of the two benches
Either a player or an appointed ref will keep time (in the tournament a ref will be used from a team that is not playing)
Minimum team size: 4 skaters, 1 goalie... no maximum
