KYP DURRON

Kyp was taken prisoner by the Empire when his parents were arrested for speaking out against the destruction of Alderaan. Kyp was shipped off to Kessel, and forced to work the spice mines. When Han Solo and Chewbacca are shot down over Kessel and also forced to work the mines, Kyp becomes friends with Han, and together they escape the mines, only to discover the Maw Installation. Upon returning to Coruscant, Kyp is asked by Luke Skywalker to join his new Jedi Academy, for Kyp shows a great deal of Force sensitivity. Kyp agrees, and begins training on Yavin 4. Following Gantoris' death, Exar Kun's spirit then takes control of Kyp's will. Kun shows Kyp the power of the Dark Side, but Kyp's basic nature twists the knowledge. He believes that, even though the power stems from the Dark Side, it can still be used against the Empire. Kun's spirit does nothing to alter this perception, and assists Kyp in retrieving the Sun Crusher from Yavin's gas core and allows Kyp to draw on his power as Kyp begins destroying Imperial worlds.

It is when Kyp destroys the Caridan system that Han finally catches up with Kyp, and convinces the young man to return to Yavin 4. Luke then worked with Kyp to return him to the true nature of the Force. As his powers grew, Kyp became a respected member of the Jedi Knights. He befriended Dorsk 82 when the young alien traveled to Yavin 4 for training, and the pair were dispatched to Corbos when the miners there unearthed an ancient creature. Kyp managed to defeat a small Leviathan, but the creature's death awakened an even larger one. The combined efforts of Kyp, Dorsk 82, Kirana Ti, and Streen managed to defeat it

DORSK 82

 

Dorsk 82, a genetic descendant of Dorsk 81, was living on Khomm when Dorsk 81 returned there after becoming a full Jedi Knight. He had been trained to manage the cloning facilities on Khomm. Dorsk 82 showed some aptitude with the Force, and traveled to Luke Skywalker's Jedi praxeum on Yavin 4 in hopes of realizing his potential. He was befriended by Kyp Durron, who found Dorks 81's lightsaber and presented it to him. Shortly after joining the school, Dorsk 82 was influential in the defeat of the Leviathan of Corbos.

KIRANA TI

 

 

Kirana Ti is one of the young witches of Singing Mountain clan on Dathomir and she eventually joined Luke Skywalker's Jedi praxeum on Yavin 4. She is a warrior as well as a Force-wielder, and feels vulnerable when not clad in the reptile-skin garment and ornate lacquered battle helm of her homeworld. She quickly grew into one the most experienced Jedi, and was part of the team dispatched to Corbos. There, with the help of Streen, Kyp Durron, and Dorsk 82, she defeated the Leviathan of Corbos.

STREEN

 

Streen was a gas prospector at Bespin when Luke Skywalker first mets him at Tibannopolis. He could use The Force to detect when Bespin will erupt large amounts of gases. He agrees to study the Force with Luke on Yavin 4, and was nearly consumed by the spirit of Exar Kun. Kun tried to use Streen to kill Luke, but the combined power of the other students destroyed Kun's spirit forever. Streen has the unusual talent of creating force winds. When the Leviathan of Corbos was unearthed, he traveled to the planet with Kyp Durron, Dorsk 82, and Kirana Ti to defeat the creature. Streen later put his powers to use in an attempt to decipher the Books of Massassi, and eventually became a Master himself when Luke went off in search of his mother with Akanah.

TIONNE

 

Tionne, one of Luke's first Jedi apprentices on Yavin 4, was a near-human minstrel and historian. She learned of the Force from her grandmother, who instilled in Tionne the passion for ancient Jedi legends. This was unusual, for all knowledge of the Jedi was thought to have been eradicated from her homeworld. Skywalker discovered her in the ruins of Exis Station, site of the Jedi convocation called by Nomi Sunrider four thousand years earlier. She had very little Force?sensitivity, but Luke Skywalker saw enough promise in her that he invited her to help discover the ancient Jedi teachings.
