Joe and Ruth Parker
30th Wedding Anniversary
The 2 tier cake was gorgeous. White whipping cream w/ pink rosettes. Top layer was carrot cake and bottom layer was strawberry banana rum.
The grandsons helped serve the champagne and the cake- Trevor and Zach really did a good job of serving.
The Party. It was wonderful. The yard looked incredible and everyone thought it was pretty. The Christmas lights in the trees really made the night. There were lots of plants and candles were everywhere. We had big fat pink 3 wick candles on every table (5 tables plus a drink table) and Heidi made candle rings for all of them. I had 4 candles on the barbecue and candles lining the wall at top of patio and sitting on every space available.  Heidi had lots of pink and white helium balloons tied out front of the house. Carmen (my neighbor) took every fork, knife and spoon and tied them together for each person with a pink ribbon and pink rosette. I had a memento poem on pink paper rolled and tied with a white ribbon.
Itea (my sister in Pittsburgh) sent a large bouquet of flowers that were absolutely GORGEOUS - just beautiful.
We had salmon, jumbo shrimp and cocktail sauce, spiral ham and rolls and croissants, pasta salad, fantastic fruit salad, large vegetable tray and all kinds of cheeses and crackers. The 4 rented tables had white linen cloths and other tables had white lace cloths and candles also. Joe put the boom box outside and we had music all evening. We had wine (all kinds) beer, soda and water and just had drinks and talked, etc until 7:30.
Then at 7:30 was the blessing and vow renewal which was really great. (under the decorated garden arch).  After that the food was served, then a champagne toast- and Deidre played a special CD (song) for us and gave a little speech about us- and everyone had champagne, and a few people danced.
My neighbor, Carmen,  worked circles around everyone plus helped me on Friday and for 2 hours on Saturday- I don't know what I would have done without her. They are the best neighbors in the world. Her husband, Richard, took all group family photos of us before the party began. We took every combination possible. Then he took pictures throughout some of the party.
