Iam a Senior here at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. I will turn 22 on September 16, 2000. I graduate in May 2000 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Community Health Education. I am a full time commuter from Maxton NC. Currently Iam doing an Internship with the Southern Regional Area Health Education Center in Fayetteville NC. In the Spring I will be doing another internship at Baptist Hospital in Winston Salem NC. My short-term goal is to be CHES(Community Health Education Specialist) certified shortly after graduation and to specialize in women's health issues . My Long term goal is to eventually get my master's in Health Administration. During my years here at UNCP I have been actively involved in my sorority (Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.). Joining this sorority was the best thing that has ever happened to me. I feel proud to be apart of this sorority because it is the first black Greek letter organization founded by black women and for black women. It is also a privilege to be apart of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority because it has given me the opportunities to feed needy families for Thanksgiving, buy toys for kids at Christmas, make baskets for kids at Easter and etc. |
