Sexology 101: Exploratory Sex 4 credit hours Practice in the basic principles of Exploratory Sex. A pre-requisite to all other Sexology courses, with the exception of Sexology 100. To meet the general education sex goal, each student must either pass out of Sexology 101 (based on previous sexual experience) or complete this 101 course with a grade of C- or above. Should be taken in the first year of college. Not for the weak at heart. Every year. Sexology 101L: Laboratory 4 credit hours Practice in the basic principles of Exploratory Sex. Designed for the student who needs extra sexual practice & instruction, it includes a required sex lab. A placement video determines which students are capable of taking this course. Meets the general education sex goal if the student passes with a grade of C- or above. Should be taken in the first year of college. Only for those who are voyeurs & do not mind being on camera. Every year. Sexology 170: Western Sexual Traditions 4 credit hours Historical perspective on Western sexual culture through its literature, both hard & soft core. Individual sections may concentrate on one of the following: Classical Greek or Roman, Biblical, American, European, or post-colonial sexual traditions. These courses ground the study of sexual literature in historical context. Every year. Sexology 180s. Themes & Traditions in Sexual Literature 4 credit hours Introductory courses designed to fulfill the general education goal in the sexual arts, these courses are devoted to the study of sexual literary works connected by a common aesthetic or cultural theme, such as Medicine & Sexual Literature, Women in Sexual Literature, Pulp Fiction, Sexual Mythology, On the Road, Shakespeare on Film, Women in Sexual Hollywood Cinema, The Monstrous, & so on, with focus on sexual observations, positions, innuendoes, etc. Intended primarily for the first- or- second year student, the 180 courses are geared to help the student reflect on the nature of the sexual experience & the methods of sexual activity used by previous generations & cultures. Writing & discussion devoted to the close analysis of texts are central parts of each course. Every year. |
