Sophia is the first milking daughter of our senior herdsire, GCH One Oak Hill Tweed Conagher and we are very excited about her! Sophia has shown us that she can endure the tests of time. Shown once as a kid she was Junior Champion and Best Junior Doe in Show. Then as a milking yearling, she was 2nd place in the D3 Lamancha Specialty...the judge commented that she would have been first if she had had more milk. We decided that we could forgive her for that since she was only 1 week fresh at the time! And in fact, she went on that year to milk enough to be granted AR and earn her star milker designation. As a 2 year old, Sophia really blossomed. Her first 2 shows out she was 2x Grand Champion, 2x Best of Breed and 1x Best in Show finishing her championship. She then went on to be the 4th place 2 yr old with 3rd udder at the 2003 ADGA Nationals in an extremely large and competive 2 yr old class of 56 animals. Sophia also LAed FS 90 EEEE that year and has maintained those scores over the years going FS 91 with an E in Mammary again this year as a 5 yr old. Now a coming 6 yr old, Sophia is still a strong and productive doe. Her most recent acheivement was being granted Superior Genetics status by ADGA making her our first SGCH homegrown doe. She remains a dominant force in our LaMancha herd and one of our favorite does. |

When Farrell Fields retired from raising goats and offered us this Tumbleweed daughter out of GCH Match, we jumped on the chance to own a Tumbleweed daughter! Mix is a beautiful, long, tall doe that is a real eye catcher. She is doubled up on the famous ++*B Winterwoods Medicine Man and as expected freshened with a fabulous mammary. We have been extremely pleased with her consistent LA scores starting with an FS 89 overall as a 2 yr old, FS 90 as a 3 yr old and then FS 91 this year as a 5 yr old, each year scoring E in Mammary. Mix became a permanent GCH in 2005 as a 4 yr old with a Best of Breed win over 5 Challengers! Now a coming 6 yr old, Mix is still a strong and productive doe and remains competitive in the show ring and in the milk bucket.Mix will be bred to our Sophia son, Devonshire SS Sun-sational, for the 2007 kidding season. We have high hopes for both the kids from this breeding and for this up-and-coming young herdsire. |

Born late in the year and being the only baby on the farm for several months, Elektra quickly became everyone's darling and one of our favorite kids from the 2004 season. Extremely long bodied with a very wide, flat rump and a high open estuchion, Elektra earned her dry leg at 2005 Goats in Gatorland under Greg Murphy at 6 months of age at her first show out. Elektra freshened as a yearling milker in April 2006. She unfortunately missed the spring show season but has been on DHIR (and looks to have earned her advanced registry status to become a 7*M) and was LA'd in May scoring FS 89 VEVE. We are extremely pleased with this doe and have retained her 2006 doe kid sired by our senior herdsire, GCH One Oak Hill Tweed Conagher in our herd this year. Elektra has been rebred to Conagher again this year for Jan kids and we are looking foward to having her in the showring as a 2 yr old second freshener. |
