It's always a pleasure when a breeding that you had high hopes for turns out to be everything you wanted and this one is a good example. The first set of kids sired by Devonshire RK Ridley (the first son that our Reserve National Champion GCH FDF Pleasant Fields Remote) here at Devonshire Farm was a pair of twin doe kids in an off-season breeding to GCH One Oak Hill Julep (dam to our 2003 Spotlight Sale consignment). Both of these does freshened in Jan at 17 months of age within just a few days of each other and we are extremely pleased with the results. Well attached mammary systems with high wide rear udder arches and smooth well extended fore udders. Jena (pictured on the previous page) has a little more of her grand-dam's look to her with a deep body and flat topline while Julindy (pictured at the right) more closely resembles her dam, Julep, being longer of body and having a slightly longer bone pattern overall. Julindy has been reserve Grand to her sister Jena twice this season and looks to finish her DHIR advanced registry requirements with 2000+ lbs in the bucket in less than 300 days.

Minuette (aka "Mini-Mo") and her littermate Scooter are the first daughters from FDF Pleasant Fields King in our herd. Their dam, SGCH FDF Pleasant Fields Remote, is a herd favorite who has had a wonderful show career including a BDIS win this season at the Florida State Fair and is the 2004 Reserve National Champion with Reserve Udder. Minuette resembles her dam more than any kid "Mo" has ever had and we could not be more pleased with her. She is long and level, with a very wide rump and escutcheon area, and is a real eye-catcher.She freshened with a well attached but small mammary system but was dried off early to do some more maturing.

Bedazzled came to live at Devonshire in 2005 as a trade for Mo's buck kid and we are THRILLED that Amy let us have the only doe kid out of Bebe and Court Jester! "Dazzle" stands on very correct feet and legs, has great color, breed character and personality plus. Her dam Bebe is pictured above winning the 2002 Nationals in Colorado! Dazzle was shown as a dry yearling and earned her Jr champion leg. She has just recently freshened and we are very pleased with her mammary. Although still immature, her udder is very well attached being high in the rear and well extended in the fore with beautifully smooth blending. New milking pictures coming soon!

Dam: GCH Willow Run Sir Will Hassida                       2003 and 2004 Nat'l CH with Best Udder
DS: *B FDF Pleasant Fields Sir Wil
DD: GCH Willow Run Apollo Hasana
To get triplet does out of the 2x National Champion Hassida was well, thrilling to say the least, even though we had really hoped one of them would be a buck!  All three really resemble their dam in type and we feel this is what Hassida herself must have  looked like as a young doe; they are wide, they are deep, they are powerful!  Mayhem earned her dry leg her first show out and then freshened late in the 2006 season with a beautiful mammary system that reminds us very much of her dam when she was young. Because she freshened so late this past year, we did not get a chance to see how she would show as a milker and are looking foward to getting her back in the showring this spring as a 2nd freshener. Mayhem is bred to Soldier and is due to kid in late Jan.
