Blue
Hills
The good ship ‘Blue
Hills Village’,
With Captain Maurice
at the helm,
Has benefits so delightful,
They sometimes quite
overwhelm.
The residents here
are all happy,
Even thought it’s
not quite complete;
But there are always
happy smiles,
When one wanders down
a street.
The benefits are numerous,
As a resident I should
know;
And the many activities
available here,
Seem to make the contentment
grow.
To those of us who
can’t get around,
Help is often at hand;
And the measures taken
to move people around,
Are quite simply …
Grand.
Due to age and health
problems,
Taking care of our
home was too much;
So we signed up here,
where they do it all,
Gardening, maintenance
and such.
Oh the Villas here
are lovely,
So spacious and nicely
set out;
And we find there
are really no worries here,
In trying to just,
get about.
The facilities will
be wonderful,
When the Village is
complete;
And I can only recommend
it,
As the perfect retirement
retreat.
Of course in any undertaking,
Of this magnitude
and scope;
There are always mountainous
problems,
But the folk here
just seem to cope.
Apart from Maurice,
the mayor, he he.
There’s Sylvia, the
Town Clerk;
And Andrea, our lovely
Village Engineer,
They all have made
their mark.
All the teams that
are working here,
Seem always to pull
together;
And the only thing
that they can’t control,
Is all this lousy
weather.
So to all those seeking
peace of mind,
Whether of independent
means or on pensions;
Remember Blue Hills
Retirement Village,
The place to relieve
your tensions.
Believe me when I say
to you,
That we have found
release,
From many of our previous
problems,
And can now live our
lives out in peace.
