We have a brand new
puppy,
And Scruffy is his
name;
My wife got him for
Mother’s Day,
From the R.S.P.C.A.
he came.
His breed is indiscriminate,
A Shih Tzu cross they
said;
But crossed with what
is a mystery,
“A Suburban” Terrier?
inbred?
His previous owners
left him,
At the Dog’s Home
in a pip;
For the poor little
puppy dog,
Had a broken hip.
The Vets there at Yagoona,
Certainly did the
trick;
For they really fixed
his hip right up,
And he mended pretty
quick.
He is only three years
old,
So he’s really still
a pup;
And we thank the R.S.P.C.A.,
For the way they fixed
him up.
I have lost my rocking
chair,
Which really is a
shame;
This sweet little
puppy dog.
Claimed it when he
came.
He’s a lively little
fellow,
With a playfulness
that lingers;
As he tears madly
round the house,
And tries to chew
your fingers
But we love the little
feller,
And give thanks to
Him above;
For this lovely little
bundle of joy,
Who gives us so much
love.
