What’s happening to
Sydney,
Fairest city in the
land?
What’s wrong with
our Government?
I just don’t understand.
What’s wrong with our
Police?
Our justice system
too;
What’s happened to
city pride?
I wish I knew that
too.
Why can’t we walk the
streets
Without concern or
fear?
Why must we worry
our possessions,
Tomorrow may not be
here.
We have a justice system,
Although soft it well
may be;
But it does not fulfill
its task,
As anyone can see.
Let the punishment
fit the crime,
Perhaps should be
our creed;
For something must
be done,
To stop this crime
wave breed.
Help make a great Australia,
Declare all-out war
on crime;
For if we do it now,
The decline will stop,
in time.
Remember the old expression,
"She’ll be right mate"?
Well
Honesty, trust and
truth,
Have sounded too their
knell.
You might think I am
whingeing,
Believe me this crime
MUST cease;
I have worked hard
all my life,
Now I’m retired, all
I want is peace.
