Ancient word meaning aloha; a warm salutation, still used.

A polite way of attracting attention. Only used when speaking to one person. You there! (as between spouses, often affectionate, replacing "Darling!" / "Dear!"

`Eia `oe!

In a kindly voice, an affectionate welcome; in an angry voice, displeasure. "So, you have come!", "Well, you have come!"

Lit., "The love indeed!"

Oh, it's you!

Welina.

A greeting similar to aloha, but more anciently used. Also, weli.

  • Welina me ke aloha.

Used as a salutation in a letter.
