John Law was born 29 Mar 1722 in Henrico County, Bristol Parish, Virginia and died June 1799 in Franklin County, Virginia.
He married Sarah Cockerham, 14 Nov 1748 in Virginia, the daughter
of Abner Cockerham. John Law was baptized 25 Aug 1722 according
to "Births from the Bristol Parish Register" by Churchill Gibson Chamberlayne, Richmond, VA 1898, reprinted by Clearfield Company, Inc., Baltimore, MD 1990, pp 55-58. John is found in the records
of Henrico Parish, Henrico County, VA - Lands Processioned 1747/1748; the 1750 Lunenburg County, VA Tithe list. In April 1751, he entered land in present Pittsylvania County (then Lunenburg) adjoining his land, there are further entries in 1753,1754 and 1761. The children of John and Sarah Cockerham Law are:

three times, twice as Daniel Law to Biddy Tyre 10 May 1791 and
once as Daniel Law to Brildy Tyree 16 May 1791. I assume that
the 16 May 1791 recording is to get the spelling of her name right, but I don't know why it is listed twice under the other

William and Margaret had 8 children, with the first three (maybe four)being born in Virginia and the others in Georgia. William and family were in Bartow County, Georgia in time for the 1850 census. Samuel H. Law was born 7 Jun 1842 in VA and died 2 Nov 1895 in GA. He married Rachel Delaney Hobson, 26 Nov 1868 in Bartow County, Georgia. Samuel served with the 1st Regiment, 40th Gerogia Volunteer Infantry, Private, 4 Mar 1862, Corporal,
Oct 1863, and had been promoted to Sargeant when he was captured
in Atlanta, GA 13 Aug 1864 and was sent to Louisville, KY, then
fowarded to Camp Chase, Ohio where he enlisted in US service and
was transferred to Chicago, Illinois 20 Mar 1865. Their children
