Coach Joseph Odhiambo

Internationally recognized basketball trickstar, Joseph Odhiambo is a leader in the world of basketball handling. He is the director of Triple T Basketball Skills & Entertainment Inc., an independent organization that specializes in conducting clinics, workshops, camps, and motivational talks on how to become a better athlete through practice.

As a motivation speaker, coach, and celebrated basketball entertainer, Coach Odhiambo has acclamation as the world's greatest basketball dribbler. He has performed at the NBA games, andthe Harlem Globetrotters (Camp Verde, Arizona, 2001). He travels all over United States talking to athletes from high schools to professionals on how to succeed through practice. Since 1995, Coach Odhiambo has spoke or performed in front of over 100,000 people. He is one of the most sought after motivational speakers in the field of individual skills development and basketball entertainment.

Coach Joseph Odhiambo's accomplishments have also been published in various newspapers and magazines around the world, the most notables being Guinness Book of Records; Arizona Republic Newspaper (Phoenix, Arizona); The Tribune Newspaper (Mesa, Arizona); Highway Magazine, Alternative World Records (Germany); and Ripley's World Records. He has also been featured on Guinness: Primetime (Spain and Brazil); Ripley's Believe it or Not, Sports Tonight with Mark Curtis (NBC affiliate Arizona), Suns' Jam Session (UPN 45), Good Morning and Evening Arizona (News Channel-3, TV Arizona), and Morning News on CBS (Arizona). In 2003, Coach Odhiambo received News Channel-3 TV award for Outstanding Athlete for the month of January for his accomplished work in the community (substance abuse awareness program at local schools in Arizona).

Coach Joseph Odhiambo went to Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona, where he graduated with degrees in computer science and mathematics. While at Canyon, he also played varsity basketball from 1989 - 1991. Prior to coming to Grand Canyon, Odhiambo was a star athlete for the Kenya National Basketball Team. He also participated in track and field attaining national status in discus and shot-put. At only 6'3", Odhiambo almost attained Olympic qualifying mark in discuss throwing. He still hold the national schools and college record in Kenya. After college, Joseph Odhiambo worked as a computer programmer and statistic analyst before resigning in 1994 to become a motivational speaker, basketball coach, and entertainer.

Coach Odhiambo developed a training regiment that allowed him to build his ball-handling platform in two years. Practicing 4 to 6 hours a day, he learned more than 200 tricks including trying the Guinness Record of dribbling four basketballs simultaneously. Since then, he has added more than 500 tricks using up to 24 basketballs. Coach Odhiambo has also set or broken various world ball-handling records 9 times. He currently holds the following world records:

  • Dribbling six basketballs simultaneously for one minute
  • Spinning one basketball the longest (4 hours and 15 minutes)
  • Dribbling one basketball the longest (26 hours and 40 minutes)
  • Juggling Three Basketball While Shooting the most Layups.
  • Spinning a basketball on one hand without touching it with the other hand (37.46 seconds)
