Our Jewish Groups
Rejected
Standards

Any posting in any of our Jewish Groups must meet our stringent standards.

But I've postings similar to mine in other groups.

Other groups do not determine the standards for our groups.

But my shul showed a movie that had the same concepts and terminology.

Your shul and the producers of that movie do not determine our policy.

But everybody talks this way today.

Not everybody. Our standards are higher.

But it's allowed according to Windows Content Policy.

Windows Content Policy does not determine our standards.

But I was only quoting something that had already been published elsewhere.

That publication does not determine our policy.

But it's a direct quote. That's what was actually said.

The speaker does not determine our policy.

But you cannot ignore the changes in standards around the world.

Yes we can. This website stipulates our own standards. They have been approved by our Rabbinical Review Board.

But I have a right to free speech.

No, you cannot post messages that do not meet our standards.

But that's censorship.

That is correct. We are proud to practice censorship.

But you can't tell me how to speak.

That is correct. However, we can determine the postings that will be read on these groups. These postings do not necessarily have to reflect the way you speak.

I did not know about these guidelines.

They are posted once a month on most active groups. They are mentioned from time to time on other groups.

What happens if I do not follow the group guidelines?

Your message will not be posted.

What if I don't write out epithets in full? What if I replace some letters with symbols, such as asterisks or spaces?

You may not even post a reference to an unacceptable term or concept.

How can I post my message if there is no way to get around it the unacceptable concepts?

Some messages don't get posted.

But it's crucial for an understanding of the concept that I want to present.

Then you will not be able to present that concept.

Can these guidelines be changed?

Yes. However, they cannot be abolished or weakened.

Everybody I know uses this terminology.

I'm sorry to hear that.

If your entire circle of acquaintances seems to use improper terminology, then you may be in the wrong company. I question whether you deserve such a low caliber of friendship.

Where do you want to go now?
