There are many types of equpipment and guns a sniper can use. First, we will start with the guns Guns Pump guns are being used less by snipers today. Persoally, I don't agree with this, but they are. Most semi autos that are used are Tippmanns. They are the most durable semis made. There pump is probably the most durable pump ever. Most who use Tippmanns use the 98 Custom, for its ability to be heaily modified. Also, because of the FLATLINE barrel, which doubles range, but decreases accuracy alittle. Others use the Pro-Carbine, which is probably the most durable semi ever. If I would use a semi, I'd get a 98 Custom with a FLATLINE and a 14 inch aftermarket barrel. But, I shoot pumps, which I have the most knowledge about. I shoot a Phantom, which is the best gun I've shot (I've shot Maverick/Trracers, 98 Customs, Pro Carbines, and various Spyders) If you can save up enough to get one, get it. You never have to replace the stock barrel, (which has as high quality of Dye barrels) unless you are a barrel freak. Most other pumps you will have to replace it (ones that are cheaper, and ones made by WGP) If you can find one, LAPCO guns are a few of the best. Also, Sterlings, Sentinels, and Carters are great to have. Each of these pumps shoots great. If you can find any of them, get them. (My Maverick didn't work because it was defective.) Barrels Barrels made by Dye, LAPCO, Armson, Smart Parts, J&J and Custom Products are good barrels to have for low end pumps and all semis. Dyes are the most expensive, but they are the best. I would get a barrel that is 12 or 14 inches in length. Barrel Extensions According to the BATF, a pillow could be a silencer. Silencers are illegal, unless you pay the BATF to use one. (lousy liberals) If you want an extension though, get one from Paintball Sniper Supplies. (In the links section) Sights NOTE: DO NOT USE LASER SIGHTS! THEY CAN BLIND PEOPLE< AND ARE WORTHLESS. Now that I'm through with that, the best sights for paintball that the "experts" think are red dot sights. They are good, but I personally like 3-9x20mm scopes better. They are low magnification, and they work. They are also ver cheap. Red dots are good to have though. If you want one of them, get it from ADCO. They have warranties for dammage by paintball hits. Other Accesories Anything that is shiny or cool should be avoided. More on this in the camo section. Stocks are good, but you will need a remote line. Semis should use nothing more than a 12 oz. and nothing less than a 4 oz. Pumps should use a 4 oz. or maybe a 9 oz. I personally want a 20 oz. so i can get more than a caseful of shots off of my Phantom, even though it is probably way too big. Bipods are nice to have, but they are expensive. Thje cheapest harris bipod I've saw is still 95 dollars! 45 round hoppers or 10 round feeders should be used, unless in a scenario game. If you are in one of them, use a 150 or 200 round hopper. RTs and electronic anything should be avoided. These are my personal choices for sniper guns and equipment. You can use any gun to snipe, but as I said beore, these are my opinions. Back to Tactics |
