In Memory of Those Who Died On September 11, 2001.
September 11, 2001, will be, as President Franklin D. Roosevelt described December 7, 1941, when the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor, "A day that will live in infamy" for me. The city I love, New York, was viciously attacked, but also other Americans were killed on American soil by terrorists. That was something I had never experienced. Even worse, I found out on the 12th that a personal friend of mine was one of the Heros who helped bring down Flight 93 and saved our most valuable landmark, the White House. His name was Mark Bingham.
Live. Love. Lead. NEVER forget!
Please visit the link to the right about Mark. It has been put together so well, with so many people writing such beautiful things about the great person that he was. He is a true American Hero. Mark, we will not forget and we will continue the fight. Thanks for your friendship, but most of all thank you for being such an inspiration to so many, including me. After all the planes had been crashed, I remember a reporter noting that the Twin Towers would probably have to be torn down. I thought to myself, "This guy is insane, he obviously has never see these building or been in them. They will patch it up like new." Moments later they began to fall. I watched in total disbelief and was shrouded in fear. I was to spend the day with my step-mom and later Daddy. I already grieved for September 11th, I lost my dear mother on that day in 1995. Now I share with thousands that day and millions of others who were affected by these attacks. To the right is a picture of Mark taken from his website. We will NEVER forget. |
