Should I Change My Name?

Should I change my name?
Never thought when you came
into my life with your song
it would go so wrong.
We made children together,
dressed up in leather,
played in a band
and drove a Volkswagon van.
We acted like yuppies
and while the kids grew like puppies
we strangled and twisted
what love once existed:
gave up on each other
and each found another.
Didn't know when you got her
that you'd look to her daughter.
You were so good with kids
now that's on the skids;
five years in prison's
not what I envisioned
for the dad of my boys.
Can't make up for it with toys.
They'll see you when they're 18;
that's a long ways in between.
Now you think about your sons
who suffer for your sins;
think of your daughters too
who are crying over you.
You chose to touch that girl
you're a pig to her pearl.
You can't go back
you'd better pay heed
you've sown destruction with your seed.
I'm not faultless either
but when they all blush in shame
I've got to wonder
should I change my name?
