Our Love Story
Fate by Susan Marr Spalding
(Lines 1-9)
Two shall be born the whole world apart,
And speak in different tongues, and have no thought
Each of the other's being, and no heed;
And these o'er unknown seas to unknown lands
Shall cross, escaping wreck, defying death,
And all unconciously shaping every act
And bend each wandering step to this one end,--
That, one day, out of darkness they shall meet
And read life's meaning in each other's eyes.

   HOW WE MET:
Jorge and I met on November 28, 2001.  We met at our church after Wednesday evening services.  Jorge had recently graduated from high school and had since moved from Prior Lake to only about three blocks away from my house.

    OUR COURTSHIP:
After a few weeks of talking after church, and after being asked by several people if we were going out, I decided not to wait around for him to make a move.  On January 11, 2002, after a few phone calls, a couple of my close friends and I went drove over to his work and in front of all of his coworkers, I asked him to go see a move with us the next night.  Obviously, he said yes, and by the next day, everyone knew about the girl who showed up at his work to ask him out.
Soon, a few weeks later, on Febraury 25, 2002 he presented me with a diamond necklace and officially asked me out.

    OUR ENGAGEMENT:
I graduated on June 4, 2003 and soon after, I left for Reynosa, Mexico with some people from my youth group to go on a missions trip.  I was gone for about a week.  One day just after I had returned, Jorge and I were helping his cousin move some things out of his store.  After a few hours had passed, Jorge randomly pulled me aside and asked me to marry him.  A few weeks later we left for a vacation in South Dakota with my parents and some friends.  Eventhough, I had known about his thoughts of proposal before-hand because I had oicked out the ring, ha made a few very intimate speeches about why he proposed infront of several friends and family members.

Here are a few striking similarities and fun facts about us:
*Obviously we were both born in a different country then we now reside in.
*Jorge's first language is Spanish, which I have studied since I was five years old.
*Jorge was born on
August 7th, and I was born on April 7th.
*We both have noticeable birthmarks on our right elbows in exactly the same place.
*The longest we have been apart and not spoken to each other was for one week when I went on a missions trip to Mexico.
