Power: He is very good at magic.

Appearance: A wandering monk who wears a smiling mask to hide his scar and his painful memory. He goes everywhere with his kasa on his head, kesa wraps around his body, his prayer beads around his neck and a staff in his hand.

Personality: An elusive and mysterious person. Being the oldest of the suzaku seishi, he often guide, counsels and even looks after the rest of them. He only takes off his mask under serious situation and does not use 'no da' in his speech. Except for that, he can be very silly and cute too. He has a rather unique, high-pitched voice, characterized by the addition of 'no da' at the end of practically every sentence. No even that, he even thinks 'no da'.

Although he appears to be cheerful and outgoing, it is only facade. He does not want others to be sad nor miserable, that is why he is also the one to keep a smiling face even when he is unhappy. In another word, he use his mask and 'no da' to hide his true feeling. Having no selfish desires, he keeps rather distant from ordinary men which probably makes him a hermit.

Background: When Chichiri was 18 years old, he had a fiancee and a best friend. Three of them get along very well, until Chichiri found out that his very best friend had snatched his fiancee away. In the spite of anger, Chichiri beated him up. During the course of fighting, his best friend died while Chichiri lost his left eye. The moment his friend died, the truth hit him that instant. He likes his friend. Although his best friend death was an accident, Chichiri felt responsible for it hence he disfigured his face on the spot. He never wants to forget his friend in his entire life, thus, the scar serves as a memorial to his friend.

On the other hand, people might find the scar disgusting, so he puts on a smiling mask to hide the painful memory.
