Welcome to a beautiful spring array of flowers at the Mannings.
There are about five different colors of lilacs in this beautiful yard and they are
in full bloom. I love the darkest purple.
This one just takes my breath away, the centers are really yellow.
I wonder if this is actually considered a yellow lilac.
This picture is taken from the lake side, up the walk to the house.
It shows the totally awesome coral dogwood. I had no idea they would bloom like
this in NW Michigan and we are looking for one for our yard.
This is really a beautiful dogwood. It must survive because it is totally
protected by huge pine trees from the cold winter winds.
I recall taking a picture like this at our home in Indiana before we retired next door
to the Mannings. We had 3 dogwoods in our yard, a white, a cream and this coral color.
Dogwoods are very prolific in Indiana, they grew wild in the woods with red buds as well.
It's one of the things I miss about Southern Indiana.
And this is a white dogwood.
I'm coming back from the north side of the house, and caught this beautiful view
looking over the flower boxes down the lake.
What a beautiful, bright yellow flowering bush against the red house.
This reminds me of my Mom's pink Chinese rose bush.
And as I come back from the side of your house,
I see this yellow and black swallowtail butterfly !!
What a view, our beautiful Torch Lake through the Lilacs at Manning Villa !!!
When are you coming home?
Our new "Lake Garden" is looking good with daffodils, hosta,
rhododendrons, and new Ostrich ferns planted.
The daffodils love it here.
Manning Floral provided us with this beautiful arrangement.
Thank you. Hope you've enjoyed your garden tour.
