Tony McGrath
In 1993 the club held its first
Tony McGrath Cup. This event is held in the memory of
Tony who was one of the main driving forces behind the club for decades.
The competition is held at the end of each season and there's no better way to wrap up the playing year. From 1993 till 2000 the club made up four teams and the cup would go to the squad that won the final. Then in 2001 we invited two teams in to compete for the cup against a Pettigo A side and B side. Trillick won the cup beating the Pettigo A side. Then in 2002 the club played Ballyshannon and it was Stefen Newman who lifted the silverware for a relatively young Pettigo outfit. |
