An American
Peacock's Pride
What does the Peacock's Pride mean?  Well, my maiden name, Pfau, is German and means "peacock."  I have made that the logo for my home page.
The pride is for my wonderful children.  They are helping me through a very hard time right now and I don't know what I'd do without them.
I was born in Brooklyn,  New York but have lived most of my life in New Jersey.
I am the oldest of 6 children - 4 girls and 2 boys.  My brothers live in New Jersey but my sisters live all over the U.S.  They are in Florida, Colorado and Minnesota.  My parents lived in the house I grew up in until they moved to Florida in 1989.  I miss them being so close but try to see them at least once or twice a year.
I was raised in Bergen County and lived in Fair Lawn until I married in 1974.

I married my ex-husband, Michael, in 1974 and were married for 28 years. I was divorced in 2002.  We have 3 wonderful children. Matt is 26, got married in June 2000 and is now living in California with his wife, Marguerite who is attending law school.  He  graduated from TCNJ (Trenton State College) in December '99 with a degree in accounting and works for an insurance company.   Lisa is 24 and graduated from Richard Stockton College with a degree in Business and Accounting.  She made Dean's List several times.  She now lives in South Jersey and works for an accounting firm in Philadelphia.  Nick is 21 and graduated High School in June 2000.  He entered the Navy in November 2000 and after going through basic training in Great Lakes Illinois, he attended Nuclear Power Training in South Carolina and Upstate NY. He is currently stationed in Georgia.
I have worked as an instructional aide with the Pre-Kindergarten in the school district in which I live. This year is
my 13th with the Pre-K and 15th in our school system.  They surely keep you feeling young.  It is a lot of fun.
I have worked with the same teacher for these 13 years and we have become good friends.
In my spare time I enjoy doing crafts, sewing, knitting, cooking, baking, gardening and although I haven't done them in a long time, I enjoy bowling and racquetball.
In the summer I love waterskiing while vacationing in Maine at a family cottage.
