Very early one morning in June,
A shuttle/car picked me up at my house
and took me to Phoenix airport to get a flight to Seattle.
I brought a cheese sandwich, some homemade trail mix,
& an empty water bottle
which I filled at a water fountain after going thru security.
When I first started flying again,
I was advised to request a wheelchair to gate.
I did so from Phoenix and from Seattle.
It gets me thru Security very fast.
I rarely set off any alarms despite an articial hip.
When I arrived in Seattle, a shuttle took me to Oak Harbor.
It went by way of a ferry from Mukilteo on the mainland
to Whidbey Island - Yep, a real island surrounded by water.
My friend, Shirley, picked me up in Oak Harbor.
I stayed with her and her husband for several days.
They have 2 dogs & a cat.
I displaced the cat from her room so she would not let me take her picture!
One day I rented a car met a high school friend for lunch,
visited friends at businesses & stopped by my former neighborhood.
Another day I had lunch with several friends who I had worked with.
Shirley drove me to the home of a mutual friend, Lisa,
who lives with youngest son, Jesse, a bit north of Seattle.
The 3 of us went to a casino for lunch and played the slots.
I stayed with Lisa for several days.
Lisa, Jesse, & I took a boat ride at Diablo Dam.
We also took a train ride at Snoqualmie Falls.
Then I took a shuttle to Seattle where I took yet another shuttle
to Eastern Washington to visit my daughter & her 2 boys.
The boys went to swim lessons and a swim meet where Sam won ribbons.
I went to Sam's piano lesson.
We visited the Richland museum and went to a street market.
On the 4th of July we went to an outdoor concert.
The boys picked carrots from their garden.
After a week, they took me to local Airport
to get shuttle to Seattle to get my flight home.
My flight back to Phoenix in July was delayed 30 minutes.
Upon arrival in Phoenix I celled DIL that plane had arrived.
By the time I got to luggage, she celled me
I turned around & Yep, there she was.
We stopped for dinner and then she took me home.
I had a wonderful time in Washington
and hope to make the trip again next year.
