" CERTIFIED INSTRUCTORS DEDICATED TO PROMOTING HUNTING SAFETY, KNOWLEDGE AND ETHICS THROUGH EDUCATION INTO THE FUTURE "

Pennsylvania’s Game and Wildlife Code requires all first-time hunters and trappers, regardless of age, to attend and successfully complete the Hunter Trapper Education Course. Participants must be at least 11 years of age to enroll. (You must be 12 years old before you may begin to hunt.) There is no maximum age for enrollment.

The PA State Certified Bowhunter Education Course is voluntary and open to the same age group. It is highly recommended that all bowhunters take this course.

Both courses are staffed by highly dedicated volunteer instructors who are certified by the Pennsylvania Game Commission.

The link below will take you to the PGC Hunter Education Webpage where you can find out when and where courses are offered in your area. Most are scheduled in the spring and summer months and class sizes are limited. Those who wait until just before the hunting seasons are sometimes disappointed to find out there are no more classes scheduled for the year. Sign up early and you won't be left out!
