Our third "Big" reunion went well. A total of 44 former members and spouses attended. As in 1998 at Dayton and 2001 in Tucson, we had a real good cross section of the wing represented.
The 2003 355th TFW reunion was held at the Best Western Executive Hotel on Needmore Road in Dayton OH. The main event for our reunion was a tour of the U.S. Air Force Museum including open cockpit viewing of their F-105D "Memphis Belle II" and A-10 aircraft. The second day was a "visit day" where everyone hung out at the hospitality room to get to know everyone a little better.
Attendees included 16 new "Jeeps" who were attending their first reunion. We also picked up two new members when we visited the AF Museum. It was hard to miss us while wearing our reunion T-shirts & hats.
Here are photographs of our days at the 2003 reunion:
On the humorus side... The groups' welcoming ceremony for Art McAninch. Art made a "slight" side trip during the reunion to have the honor of swearing his grandaughter into the Air Force.
On a more serious note... 355th pilot Mike Durbin gave an impromptu speech that touched us all.
